What is the cost of lies?

 

I was thinking about the title of this column of today, after watch Chernobyl once again. The question made by Legasov (portrayed by Jared Harris), is still rolling in my head. Because of this, I decided to write this words to make myself clear.

We know the cost of truth. We know that also we can face it. We face the truth everyday in our lives, in our jobs, streets, in our pockets and bank accounts, we see the face of the truth everyday... we know the cost of the truth because we pay it, specially when it hit us in our faces, so hard that it hurts.

But nobody made the question Legasov did. Nobody dimensioned the impact of a lie can cause. I thought CNN in complicity with the Pentagon, under G.W. Bush administration, spread lies about WMD in Irak, carrying the entire Armed Forces into a war, was one of the biggest lies in history... I was wrong.

Analyzing the Chernobyl Disaster's chain of events, including the technical facts before the catastrophe, there's a lot of truth hidden under the scraps of the core of reactor. Starting with the RMBK nuclear reactors manufacture. Nobody told the truth how was made, nobody. Nobody knew the Dyatlov's dark secret and his dark wishes to get control of the NPP. Also nobody knew the real disaster after the explosion and exposure of an entire city, and almost the entire european continent. Why?

Because the truth offends. that's why.

In my country, after the so called "social outbreak", the cannon fodder paid by left politicians, spread a lot of lies using the confusion as a camouflage, trying to carry us a civil war, like the bolshevik revolution in 1917. Actually are carrying the war they started at the palace's gates.

Leftists are so offended with truth, and are willing to refuse is there. They lie again and again until the point of not "recognize the truth at all" (in Legasov's words), they will bury the truth under tons of lies and misinformation, twisting the facts and creating a whole new story, not only to hide the reality and profit. The "stubborn facts" as Lenin said is the best vaccine against the left lies. and the truth will always prevail.

"Every lie we tell incurs in a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid" and the price is higher than the lie they said to hide it.
